Pachycephalosaurus

Pachycephalosaurus means "thick-headed lizard".

Pachycephalosaurus has got its name after its head skull, which could grow up to 25 cm thick. Around the edges there were small spikes that went all the way down to the nose. There are different opinions about what Pachycephalosaurus used the thick head skull for. Some believe they hit their heads in battle and that the thick head shielded the brain. Others believe that the throat would break in such a fight or that the head could not be strong enough or had the right shape.
