GIVSKUD ZOO - ZOOTOPIA is accessible to everyone. In fact GIVSKUD ZOO - ZOOTOPIA has been awarded all the Danish Accessibility Label scheme labels (godadgang.dk).

Around the park

The best way to see GIVSKUD ZOO - ZOOTOPIA is by car and on foot. The tour around the park varies as there are three vehicle routes and three walking areas, each with its own car park. Leave your car in the car park. Walk around to see all the animals that are kept in enclosures and houses. You can drive through the three vehicle routes either in your own car or on the Safari Bus (see below).

Paths

The paths in GIVSKUD ZOO - ZOOTOPIA are gravelled and suitable for wheelchairs. Please note that there are some small inclines en route.

Wheelchairs

We have several wheelchairs available for loan during your visit. If you would like to borrow a wheelchair, we recommend booking one in advance. Please email billetsalg@givskudzoo.dk with your name and the date of your visit.

Companion Card

At GIVSKUD ZOO – ZOOTOPIA, guests holding a valid Companion Card may bring one companion into the park free of charge upon presentation of the card at the entrance.

The companion must be at least 18 years old, and the Companion Card must be issued by a public authority.

Please note that the companion scheme does not apply to special events or overnight stays. There are no separate admission prices for guests with physical or intellectual disabilities.

Adult Changing Facility

An adult changing facility is available for larger children and adults during your visit. It is located in the accessible toilet at the Babycare Centre, behind the Waffle House in the P3 area. The room is also equipped with a manual hoist.

Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are available:

next to First Stop in the P1 area,
opposite the Safari Shop in the P3 area, and
at Jacob's Restaurant in the P3 area.

In addition, the Babycare Centre in the P3 area features a spacious accessible toilet with an adult changing table, facilities for larger children, and a manual hoist.

Safari Bus limitations

The bus driver gives information about the animals we meet en route. This is transmitted via telecoil so everyone on the bus can hear the commentary.
The Safari Bus has no wheelchair lift and is only accessible for wheelchair users who are able to climb into the bus by themselves or with assistance from a carer. We recommend therefore that wheelchair users cover the safari route in their own vehicle.

Behind-the-Scenes Experiences and Stable Visits

At GIVSKUD ZOO, you can book a range of behind-the-scenes experiences, including stable visits with the animals, such as Good Morning Zoo, Good Night Zoo, and more. These experiences are also suitable for wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility.

The tours take place by bus, and wheelchairs and walkers can be stored in the bus's luggage compartment. From the bus, it is only a short walk to the animal stables.

Please note that our safari buses are not equipped with wheelchair lifts. Guests using electric wheelchairs are therefore invited to follow the safari bus in their own vehicle, allowing them to use their vehicle's wheelchair lift.

If you have booked one of our behind-the-scenes experiences and wish to bring a wheelchair or other mobility aid, we encourage you to contact us at formidling@givskudzoo.dk before your visit. This enables us to plan the tour as effectively as possible and ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Playground Equipment

The playground area in the P3 section features several inclusive play facilities.

These playground installations have been made possible with support from the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation, the Vanførefonden (Foundation for People with Physical Disabilities), and the Bevica Foundation.

The playground includes two wheelchair-accessible swings, allowing wheelchair users to roll directly onto the swing platform and secure their wheelchair before enjoying the ride.

There are also in-ground trampolines, a carousel, and tipi-style roundabouts that are accessible to guests with mobility impairments.
