Armonia

In Bolivia, the last approximately 600 blue-throated macaws in the world reside. One of the major challenges for the species is that the palm trees they build their nests in are becoming increasingly rare due to land cultivation. Asociación Armonía has two reserves in the macaws' habitats, and Givskud Zoo Naturfond supports the construction and renovation of nest boxes with funding, which the blue-throated macaws now accept since they can no longer find the palms they typically use.

Asociación Armonía has had great success with the nest boxes, in which a large portion of the current population has hatched.
